Dodgers Acquire Shane Victorino

Hours before the MLB Trade Deadline, the Los Angeles Dodgers made another move that landed them Philadelphia CF Shane Victorino. This move came five days after acquiring Hanley Ramirez from the Marlins.

Victorino provides some offense from both sides of the plate. He is coming off a 2011 season where his  On-Base Percentage was .355. This season it has dropped a bit to .324. Los Angeles could use a bit of a jump start with Victorino getting on base and bringing him in with one of their big bats. The Dodgers are a mere 19th in the majors in OBP at .318.

Another strength that the Flyin' Hawaiian provides is energy and speed. Despite having 70 stolen bases as a team, their Stolen Base Percentage is 67.3%, which is good for 26th in all the majors. Victorino has 24 stolen bases while only being caught stealing 4 times, a SB% of 85.7%.

The Dodgers are hoping to take back the NL West this season. They are at a virtual tie with the Giants for the division lead.
